We have an impressive selection of Arts & Music festivals, sporting events and performance year round. www.visitsunshinecoast.com.au/events is a great site to visit. We also have great event venues including The J Noosa to catch some entertainment.
Sunset on the River
You may prefer to do nothing – take a picnic or grab a bite to eat at a local surfclub or riverfront cafe. Sitting at the river on dusk is an occasion that’s worth it!
You have probably heard it said many times “our beaches are some of the best in the world”. Clean white sand, surf or calm bays with crystal clear warm water. Most beaches are patrolled by surf lifesavers, and are rarely crowded. There is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy being at the beach! Noosa’s amazing choice of beaches offer everything from horse riding to snorkelling, leisurely swimming and great surfing. The main beach is patrolled 365 days a year and is perfectly protected from strong southerly winds. The area also boasts many uncrowded and secluded beaches hidden amongst the cliffs and bays throughout Noosa National Park. Our main beaches include: Castaways, Marcus, Noosa Main, Noosa West, Sunrise Beach and Sunshine Beach.
Tee off against spectacular scenic backdrops at any number of championship golf courses on the Coast. Noosa Valley Golf Course is 1 minutes drive to the first tee!
No time to waste if you want to start the day with adventure! There are so many adventure activities, water sports, abseiling, kayaking, kitesurfing, jet ski, surf, cycle, swim or skydive! Numerous brochures are available for information. There are many accredited instructors to teach you any of these activities.
Cruise the Water
We have cruises at Sunset, Everglade tours, ferry rides and numerous adventures to be had on the river.
Hire a Boat & Throw in a Line
Gympie Terrace (9 minutes drive from us) has a great range of options for boat hire. You can drive your own and drop in a line – the Noosa River is perfect for a day on the water. Anchor at the North Shore and have a picnic lunch and a swim.
If Zoo’s are your thing, then a visit to the famous www.australiazoo.com.au is a must do! There is plenty of wildlife, Australian and International animals, and many opportunities to get up close and personal with our beloved creatures.
June to November is the perfect time to experience the majestic annual migration of over 8000 Humpback Whales. Join a whale watching tour from the coast or use Noosa Valley Manor as stop over & take a day trip to Hervey Bay to watch them in their famous playground! Many European travellers stop here on their way, and they always say “stay more than one day”!
Nature Lovers & Walkers
We are fortunate to have nine National Parks in the Sunshine Coast Region and a great range of experiences available in the parks. Many people flock to the Sunshine Coast to have the opportunity to experience kilometres of world class walking trails. You may just want to stroll through the parks, spot a koala and hundreds of bird species, or simply retreat into an inland track and relax under the eucalyptus trees.
A Must See visit to Fraser Island
Rich in diversity & natural beauty, Fraser Island begins just north of Noosa and is easy to get to by 4WD. There are many tours that depart daily for the world’s largest sand island with a World Heritage listing.
A little closer to home are the Coloured Sands
Take a drive along the beach to witness the natural attraction of multi-coloured cliffs with dozens of sand colours and cliffs of 200metres between Rainbow Beach & Double Island Point.
Visit the Ginger Factory at Yandina or book in for some cooking classes at the famous Spirit House Restaurant.
